Rachel Van Wylen is a painter based in New Hampshire whose work investigates the human form and the landscape. She is interested in spaces and the way we inhabit them. She works on site whenever possible and considers the experience of being present in a location essential to understanding it.

Artist Statement 

These images reflect my love of both home and travel, staying put and seeing new things, the cool lakes and rivers of New England and the rich history and culture of Italy. Two of these paintings are from Bologna and Florence, and the other three are from Littleton, New Hampshire.
