Daniel was born in Portland, Oregon as the first generation of his family to be born in the United States. After finishing high school he took two years exploring the west coast, South America, and Europe absorbing the characteristics of society, people, objects, and their relations between each other. With these new experiences he continued his education towards product design, a field that encompassed both the conceptual methods behind art and the utility of objects at the University of Oregon.
